About Solutions for Independence

Through advocacy, training, referrals, and other support, Solutions for Independence (SFI) empowers people with disabilities to live with greater independence. Serving the Piedmont-Triad region of North Carolina, SFI aims to eliminate barriers that exclude people with disabilities from fully participating in their communities.

Our Objective

We set out to develop an easy-to-use, accessible website that reflected SFI’s revamped brand, voiced its mission, and showcased its critical programs.

How We Achieved It

  • Balance of symmetrical and asymmetrical design
  • Homepage features that describe who SFI serves and how
  • Uncomplicated the navigation menu and content
  • Integrated accessibility controls

Quote

Unity really understood our mission and audience early on and helped us better organize our site’s information to showcase our story in a creative and aesthetically pleasing format.

We’ve received so many compliments on our site since launching from being easy to use to it simply being beautiful! We’ve greatly enjoyed working with the Unity team and are grateful to them for building us a user-friendly, organized, and engaging site.”

More About this Project

At the heart of SFI’s mission is inclusion for people with disabilities, and that’s exactly what drives us here at Unity Web Agency. This shared passion made partnering with Solutions for Independence particularly special!

SFI’s website serves a range of audiences, from individuals with disabilities to caregivers to nonprofit board members. They needed their new website to speak to each of these audiences without overcomplicating things.

Each page is short and specific, featuring images relevant to SFI’s work. And most importantly, the website is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability.
