About PineCone

PineCone is a nonprofit that preserves and promotes traditional North Carolina folk music through concert series, jam sessions, workshops, and summer camps. Their annual bluegrass festival in downtown Raleigh attracts more than 200,000 visitors.

Our Objective

We aimed to simplify PineCone’s website infrastructure, create space for content to evolve over time, and emphasize their core mission: to perform, play, and preserve Carolina folk music.

More About this Project

Working with PineCone was particularly meaningful for our team because their community is our community! Their work enriches the lives of our friends and neighbors here in the heart of North Carolina.

PineCone needed a website that provided information for concert goers, musicians, and donors alike. That’s why we chose to emphasize the three components of their mission — perform, play, preserve. Each section of the homepage, and each item in the navigation menu, speaks to one of these audiences.

Because PineCone has so many vibrant photos of artists and events, photography is prominently featured on the homepage and throughout the website. It contributes to the welcoming vibe PineCone wanted, and sparks joy that music brings to people’s lives.
