Our individual expertises harmonize to create websites that serve as many people of varying needs and abilities as possible. Website accessibility serves as a bridge—a means to forge connections and cultivate a sense of community online.
The Collective Power of Individual Contributions
The foundation of our work at Unity involves not only crafting accessible websites but also fostering digital connections within the disability and B Corp communities. As a B Corp, we are part of a community of like-minded people that come together to serve a common purpose: maintaining business practices that are good for people and the planet and uplifting our local communities. While we each have a different focus and bring something different to the table, our unity is our strength.
In tandem with our mission to promote accessibility and radical inclusivity, we deeply value volunteerism and supporting our community. We believe that the most impactful changes start at home, which is why Unity commits to at least one company-paid day of group volunteering per year. Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity Orange County for the past two years has been enriching. The work we’ve done with them goes beyond simply building homes, it fosters inclusion through creating accessible spaces by constructing wheelchair ramps and homes that meet ADA standards. This partnership stands as a physical manifestation of our work in “building accessibility,” transcending boundaries to create radically inclusive communities—both in the physical world and the digital sphere.
In essence, building accessibility isn’t confined to physical spaces or digital platforms; it’s a mindset, a commitment. Our partnership with Habitat for Humanity and our dedication to website accessibility echo a shared message: creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels at home.
